VIDI
Submitted by Poly Developments
With the support of HE?Fund, Poly Developments (Hubei) collaborated with the Wuhan School for the Blind to carefully plan and produce the public welfare film “VIDI”, based on a true story. The film follows a young boy named Xiao Wan, who, driven by his passion for music, undergoes a profound transformation – from “unseen” to “being seen” – as he overcomes visual impairment and ultimately steps onto the stage of his dreams. The film conveys the belief that “with heart, one can see the light,” inspiring more people to bravely pursue their dreams.
Where the Heart Belongs
Submitted by Poly Property
Poly Property spotlights five protagonists at different stages of life, capturing their real-life struggles – from the uncertainty of job hunting after graduation and the difficulty of finding a suitable rental, to the anxiety of midlife unemployment, the confusion of a long-distance relationship, and the tension between pets and family. Through these deeply relatable, slice-of-life stories, the film offers a social narrative of contemporary living, vividly portraying the brand philosophy: “Wherever your eyes rest, that is where your heart feels at home.”
Sweet Poly
Submitted by Poly Sinolight
In the summer of 2024, Poly Sinolight ventured deep into the sugarcane fields of Mali to produce the documentary “Sweet Poly” over the course of several months. The film tells moving stories of the Poly team rooted in Mali – braving 50°C heat to repair irrigation systems in the fields and troubleshooting boiler failures during the peak of the crushing season. The documentary captures how Chinese standards have taken root in African soil, turning technological “transfusions” into sustainable local development. It stands as a vivid testament to the enduring friendship between China and Africa, embodying a spirit that transcends mountains and seas while passing on the warmth of human connection from generation to generation.
Starry Sky Concert in the Mountains
Submitted?by China National Arts and Crafts Group
Launched by China National Arts and Crafts Group, the initiative “Sing for a Better Life: Starry Sky Concert in the Mountains” is dedicated to inspiring children’s dreams through music while leveraging digital technology to support rural revitalization. The event attracted participation from students at over 1,000 universities across China and received more than 3,300 high-quality original compositions. It not only brought uplifting music to the remote mountains of Ludian, Yunnan, but also revitalized traditional craftsmanship by integrating intangible cultural heritage with livestreaming – breathing new life into age-old traditions in the digital age.
The 15th Beijing International Film Festival’s Short Video Section, themed “Discovering Beauty and Delivering Value”, received over 6,300 submissions from more than 30 countries and regions around the world – a record high in both quantity and quality. A selection of highly popular, innovative, and creatively rich short dramas and videos was showcased, capturing human warmth and conveying mainstream values within the confines of small screens.
